Best of Hearing Aid Research

July 22, 2019 by Naomi

At this year’s recent American Academy of Audiology conference in Columbus, Ohio, our publication entitled “Evaluating Select Personal Sound Amplifiers And A Consumer Decision Model” was awarded best of hearing aid research.

Coauthors on this paper were Dr. Ruth Bentler, Chair University of Iowa Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and Dr. Carol Flexer Professor Emeritus at the University of Akron.

In this publication we showed that previous research suggesting that people can self treat and self diagnose hearing loss as effectively as professionals did not hold true.
